“What a wonderful, whimsical and peaceful time and place.” A visitor.
Arter Gardens is a woodland perennial garden nestled in the heart of Olde Towne East in downtown Columbus. It is easily accessible from the freeway and just two miles east of the Ohio Statehouse. It has plenty of on-street parking. The garden is comprised of three distinct spaces or “rooms.” Each provides unique features for different types of events. A limited number of tables, table covers and chairs are available upon request.
Gazebo Area / Approximately 30′ x 18′ surrounded by flowerbeds and trees with a 36″ diameter table and chairs inside a wrought iron-tented gazebo. Comfortable seating for four. Located near a goldfish pond with a small waterfall. Electricity accessible.
Open Area / Approximately 45′ x 18′ and adjacent to the gazebo area. Our largest open area. Surrounded by flowerbeds and an elevated 10′ x 8′ terrace suitable for a speaker’s podium. A moveable 48″ diameter table with chairs is located at the end of the space. Electricity accessible.
Japanese Teahouse / Approximately a 10′ x 16′ room with four sets of French doors that open onto a 5′ deck on the front and west side. Located at the end of a winding path in the woodland area of the garden, north of the Open Area. Surrounded by trees, a small pond and rock gardens. The setting provides privacy and intimacy for groups numbering up to 13. Electricity accessible.
